Ready for Baby?

As I write my list of what is still needed for baby & check it twice, I'm surprised to see how prepared we actually are. Not mentally of course, but otherwise, we're in pretty good shape!
If you don't participate in To-Do Tuesday - you have no idea what you're missing - this is a separate list from that post, but along the same lines - it will help me remember what I need to do & I can add onto it during the day/evening as things pop into my head.

Thanks to my sister, my friends, family, work & us buying things early, I think once B gets here, we'll be ready for action.

The things we don't have yet are just b/c we haven't gotten to the store - we rec'd gift cards & $ at both showers, we just haven't had time to go shopping yet.

By the beginning of next week, all we'll need is Baby & then we'll only be about 21 days away from that.

We're so excited & so thankful to our family & friends for the wonderful things they have gotten us. I don't think Thank You Card's justify our appreciation to everyone. We owe you so much more.

SURPISE! It's a baby shower

Even though I thought I was pretty clear about not wanting a baby shower for Baby #2 - apparently I wasn't clear enough for Lisa.

I'm not complaining - not one bit - I'm extremely blessed & thankful for the surprise baby shower she threw for me this past Sunday.

I'm thankful for everything she put into that day. Cleaning before the party, after the party, the $ she spent on the food, contacting my friends & family, getting the games together, the beautiful cake...I mean, there is just too much to thank her for.

I'm thankful that even though my family & I have had a few problems as of late, no one brought it up & the shower was joyful & about B!

It was great to see Josie & Val...Selena has grown entirely too much & I'm overly jealous about all the hair Bella has! Andrea, Lindsay, Michele & Bobbie were quite a surprise, it was so wonderful of them to not only come, but get me another gift since the travel pack they already got me was more than enough!

Lisa struggled w/my camera so most of these are blurry...but it was a lot of fun!

After the shower, Lisa took the kids into the pool - Taevion did so well on his own - he was loving it!

Convert home movies onto DVD - 1/3 of the way finished - it's taking much longer to do than i thought!
Clean out basement - doing FOR SURE THIS WEEKEND! More than 1/2 way done!! We just got so caught up w/the weekend we didn't finish :(

Baby Shower

My team at work through me (and Clare - also on my team & due 8/14) a baby shower & I felt absolutely awkward having a 2nd baby shower.
I don't know why, I really can't explain it..but it was fantastic & I was given some really nice gifts!

From my wonderful friends, Alison, Andrea, Bobbie, Jackie, Lindsay, Michele, Sarah, & Stephanie - I rec'd a travel system. I love it - it's green w/polka dots!
And as Michele said when she rec'd hers - now I can bring home the baby. :)

I also rec'd lots of gift cards, a really cute hooded bath towel set w/wash cloths (pink & brown - LOVE THOSE COLORS together!), a teddy bear, onsie, rattles, outfit, and a few other things that I can't think of off the top of my head.

Cadence loved going through everything. She's very excited too.
Andrea & I were talking earlier about getting stuff for B & feeling guilty about not getting anything for Cadence. I'm so proud of her b/c she's never asks for anything for herself when I tell her we're buying something for B. All she says is, get this for my stister or get that. She enjoys getting her stuff almost as much as me!

I think I'm going to buy something special & fun for Cadence that I"ll give her after B is born. A 'big sister' gift. I want her to know I'm proud of her & that she's still my princess!

Cadence also enjoyed 'testing out' the new stroller. Dennis put it together last nite so we could get rid of the box & once he put the last tire on, she was in it ready to be pushed around. It took everything to keep her from trying out the carrier - ha!

Organize (AGAIN!) Cadence's play room - her toys are overflowing & we're quickly running out of room & Baby isn't even here yet!!

Possibly work on pole barn at moms - depends on how hot it gets. Was hoping to get this done - but I've been so tired, I don't even have the energy to sit & direct Dennis on where stuff goes!

How we spent our 4th of July

I don't think that I've ever had such a busy 4th of July! We were non-stop all day & I'm not complaining - it was fantastic!

After Dennis woke from his nap, we headed out the door to Walmart to pick up chips & dip (our contribution to dinner) & ran into Erica while we were there.
It was a quick trip & we were on our way to Sarah's.
We got there & everyone had just started eating, so we quickly joined in. The food was amazing. I meant to get a picture of the table, but was too hungry :)
They had chicken, chicken kabobs, steak kabobs, hot dogs, macaroni salad, pasta salad, some yummy warmed potato salad dish, chips & dip, a beautiful watermelon fruit basket, brownies & smores brownies.
I was so hungry & was enjoyed every bite! Cadence played baby dolls w/Madison & the neighbor girl...

After eating the yummy food - Aunt Sandy took a little relaxation time on the swing..
Aaron let his stomach settle a little before joining in on the volleyball game...
While Bobbie, Sarah & I had brownies...
Then I watched a good game of volleyball..

Here the neighbors are rooting for their favorite players..
Cadence tried out the slip n slide but she didn't like it & was a little chilly...
She got dressed & played on the swing w/Madison...
After the volleyball game - Dennis, Aaron & the 2 neighbor guys played a few games of horseshoes...

While Jeremy, Aunt Sandy, Uncle Butch & the neighbor lady played euchre..
Sarah, Bobbie, myself & the 2 neighbor boys played Uno (sorry - no pics - the game was too intense - ha!).
After the game, the 3 of us sat by the fire relaxing, talking & watching all the kids play...
Cadence was happy to get the swing all to herself!

Aaron joined us after his horseshoe game ended...
We sadly left Sarah's, but headed over to Erica's for Timmy's b/day party...
We made it in time for cake - ha! I'm not sure we enjoyed it as much as Erica did though..
While we let Cadence play w/the other kids for awhile..
Timmy was ready to come in - not that it was funny - but I thought it was a cute pic..
Timmy liked our gifts - phew - kids are hard to please!

We didn't stay long b/c we wanted to get downtown & see what was going on...

We found a close spot @ Cadence's daycare & walked over to the river. We found a good spot to watch the fireworks, put up our chairs & sat down for a bit.
We eventually got up to check things out. We missed the kids activites :(
But Cadence was ok w/that b/c she got a light saber. While we waited on the fireworks, Cadence kept us entertained..

The fireworks were very dissapointing. Toledo always had a good fireworks show, but not this time.

The rest of the day was so great, it wasn't a big deal - but I really was looking forward to them. I couldn't even tell when their Grand Finale started!

We stopped at Lisa's for a bit on our way home - walked in our door a little after 12 & crashed shortly there after!

Today we've done pretty much nothing. Dennis took a 4 hr nap while Cadence & I cleaned up & played dollhouse. We went to my sisters for a bit & came home to wake up Dennis for dinner. We had a yummy dinner - then headed off to get some ice cream. mmmm..

Now it's time for bed & I'm hoping Cadence isn't too messed up from sleeping until NOON & then napping for 45 mins @ 6!!
