The Voice Update – 5/24/11
Another great show…I am just so in love with this show, I could watch the same episodes, over & over & over!
This week Blake teamed up Dia & Serabee. I did not like Serabee at all – personality or voice. She was so overconfident & didn’t really listen to anything Blake told her. Dia was timid – but good. I don’t think she’ll make it far into the live competitions, tho.
Christina’s two girls, Raquel & Julia were both really good. Raquel reminded me of Gloria Estefan or Jennifer Lopez - just the way she looked. I enjoyed listening to her sing & she took the win!
Adam’s song Creep was sung by Rebecca & Devon. Together the 2 sounded fantastic – it was like their voices were meant to sing as one. Devon did an awesome job & won – I was excited – I like him..
Finally Cee Lo’s team…HELLO! He put together sisters Tori & Taylor with Kelsey. No joke – best of the nite! The 3 together were amazing – by themselves there were amazing..I would not want to be the one to have to choose a winner there! I really thought Kelsey was going to get it the way he was talking & was shocked when he picked the sisters. THRILLED he picked them, but shocked!!
I’m looking forward to next week & hearing Jeff sing (from Adam’s team!) and in TWO SHORT weeks it will be the live shows!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HOME DEPOT GIFT CARD GIVEAWAY! CLOSED 5/31
It’s planting season in my town & we’ve been planting to our little hearts desire. I was given some stuff last year from Dennis’ friend who was thinning out her flowerbed – this year it’s coming in beautifully! I was also given stuff this season from my friend who thinned out some of her hostas & a few other plants (please don’t ask what they were..I just say she gave me hosta’s & stuff!) and those look great. All that’s left is to pick up some color.
I was at Home Depot over the weekend & found some GREAT items! I’m hoping to get them planted in the next few days…
In honor of planting season – I’m giving away a $30 giftcard to Home Depot! You don’t have to use it for plants – you can use it for whatever you want – I’m just loving the pretty spring/summer flowers.
On a side note – I saw a BEAUTIFUL tree called a Peony Tree (the woman was very specific – it’s not a bush – it’s a tree) that is 40 yrs old. The flowers were AMAZING!!!
I want one…now I just have to find one that will look like that…so if you’re out & about & want to send me gift – well – I wouldn’t be mad at ya – ha!

Things You Probably Didn't Know..
• I would love to visit Ireland one day.
• I have always wanted 5 children.
• I have never broken a bone or had stitches
• Cadence’s middle name is my gramma’s 1st name
• I could live on black olives!
• I have never missed an episode of NCIS
• I have one sister and one brother both are younger than me.
• I rarely eat breakfast foods, for breakfast...
• I prefer texting to calling
• I lived in New Mexico when I was 4 yrs old on an AFB w/my mom & aunt
• Even though I understand more at Cedar Creek Church – I firmly believe in the Sacraments at the Catholic Church – so the girls will make theirs at the proper ages – both were baptized as infants the Cathedral as well as being Dedicated @ Cedar Creek
• My heart went into afib on New Years Eve & I had to be put on medicine to regulate it. After all the diagnostic tests came back – it said my heart was as healthy as a 20 yr olds – they have no idea why it happened.
• I’m overly tired this morning & trying to think of a random post until I finish my ‘real’ posts..but you probably figured that out already!
Thanks for bearing with me.

The Voice Recap - 5/18/11
When the show started - I, of course, was on pins & needles. My favorite show was on & nothing else mattered...crying children, pouty husbands, whiny dogs - NOTHING :)
CeeLo's team was Nakia & Tje. I LOVED Tje..but once they started singing - I was feeling Nakia. He was amazing! AND he won the round!
Christina had Bev & Justin. From the first time I heard Beverly sing - I was digging her voice - she rocked it & Christina was feeling it too because she chose Beverly over Justin...
Blake paired up the husband wife duo Elenowen with Jared. I really don't care for Blake which in turn makes me feel pretty non-chalant about his team - but I really thought Jared tore it up - thankfully Blake did too & Jared has advanced to the live shows - woot, woot!
Finally - my favorite - Team Adam...he put together Javier & Angela. She was a 2nd chancer & was ehh.. Javier was awesome from the start - ever judge turned when he did his blind audition - he IS GOOD. I think that was why Adam paired the two of them. It was going to be easier to pick because Javier is just better all around. Not to mention super duper cute!
Angela did well, but not well enough to continue...Javier tko'd that round & now we wait for next week's pair ups!

I (irregular)HEART(beat) Blogger again!
Blogger finally put up a form for people to fill out if you lost content during their outage last week. I filled mine out & by the next day (5/18) all of my posts were back! WOO-HOO!
My goal is to now draft posts somewhere else before I put it on Blogger. I have a few that I’m working on now, including my most recent The Voice update, Cadence riding a bike w/o training wheels, Bryleigh’s use of a foot massager & Cai reading to us!!
Tomorrow I’m looking forward to spending time with Sarah – my wonderful-more-like-a-sister-than-cousin, cousin…our kids will run around terrorizing each other & she & I will talk.
Saturday is the Rally by the Rails parade & Cadence’s team will be participating in that.
After we’ll swing by Selena’s graduation (HOLY SHIT – HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?!)
& end the day w/a bbq with our wonderful friends, Selena & Jeff.
Sunday will hopefully be all about relaxing, but at some point during the weekend we have to stain the decks, plant more grass seed & paint the trim on the shed…
Sounds like a pretty awesome weekend to me (except the yard work part)!! I hope you have lots of fun things in store for yours.

The Voice- Recap (5/10) (late due to Blogger crashing)
I'm not gonna lie - this show is my crack. I'm just absolutely addicted to it!
When Frenchie & the other girl went on, I wanted Frenchie to win. I thought she sounded better- the other girl was trying too hard to show her up & just not working the music - she was working to show her voice, which in my opinion is what gave Frenchie the advantage.
Blake Shelton's team went up & without a doubt Tyler should have won! The judges agreed yet Blake chose Patrick. So disappointing. Immediately I thought it was b/c they were both country singers. Then I thought & b/c Tyler is gay. Later a tweet was brought to attention where Blake tweeted "that he was rewriting his favorite Shania Twain song. "Any man that tries Touching my behind He's gonna be a beaten, bleedin', heaving kind of guy." Sounds a little homophobic to me....and to GLADD...they responded he needed to apologize right away & he did...but usually when people say 'I'm just kidding' they weren't - they were just embarrassed they were criticized about their statement.
So now we have, Frenchie & Patrick....next was Adam's team & I thought Casey was great. The guy wasn't bad either - but it was amazing how much Casey sounded like Stevie Nicks!! Girlfriend ROCKED it!
Finally was CeeLo's team and holy crap what a pair up!
The picture below was the best part of the nite - these girls KICKED SERIOUS ASS!
They complimented each other so well - and I could not even imagine having to choose one.
Vicci won & I was happy - of the 4 people that won Vicci was my favorite. I mean I felt her voice & her emotion - I loved her.
Now I have 3 more freakin days to wait for the next episode. I CANNOT wait! Adam - CeeLo - I big, puffy irregular-HEART-beat you! MUAH!

My little Duchess
When I think back to Cai as a toddler, I remember this loving, sweet, innocent little girl. She really was a sweetheart. I mean she had her days…
What kid doesn’t? But as I watch Bry go through her toddler stage – she is completely opposite.
She’s mischievous & so funny. She makes me laugh all the time. And she does have a bit of a mean streak.
She pouts a lot (something she clearly has learned from her big sister), she throws tantrums – full on, throwing herself to the floor, kicking her tiny little legs & screaming tantrums.
Even though I know it’s not a good example – I LAUGH.
It’s funny to me…I really don’t know why b/c when Cai does it – I send her to her room. I just find humor in this little person with such a big attitude.
When Cai was about 2 she started taking her diaper off…all.the.time. It was so gross, pee/poop/dry – didn’t matter – she loved tearing them off. Some sort of diaper cover was mandatory during this stage!
Bry seems to be ahead of her sister in the diaper tearing off stage b/c she’s already doing it. Super fantastic. This was a stage I didn’t miss one, single, little bit!
I read Kelly’s Korner Blog every few days & I’ve seen that her oldest is in a similar stage. She undresses completely…but I wonder if she has the problem of hers peeing on the carpets & beds..
Yep – a few weeks ago B took off her diaper & after running around bare-butt she stopped to get a diaper & peed on the carpet. Are you kidding me?!
I can’t even count how many times I’ve gone to get her out of bed in the morning & she’s naked & her bed is peed on.
I mean come on…must you do this? I figured this meant she was ready for potty training…nope…she shows no interest.
The cherry topper came when Cai said "Mommy – look what I just found" & proceeded to shove a diaper B had taken off w/poop in it.
What the hell Cai – get that out of my face.
So I yell for B to come to me so I can get a diaper on her.
Cai informs me – "Oh no Mommy, this is from last nite when she took it off. I couldn’t find it & Daddy couldn’t either, so we gave up – it was under the table..hehe.."
OMGOSH!!!!!!!!!!!
My friend’s son couldn’t say his th’s for a long time, so he would say ‘mom, I’m gonna frow up in my mouf’. She & I say that a lot to each other…
Well this was a for sure 'I'm gonna frow up in my mouf' event.
Oh BryBry…why must you be such a cute little turd?!

Dissapointed....
Nothing serious happened to anyONE...but something serious happened to someTHING...my blog
I'm really bummed because I put a lot of time into quite a few future posts. Of course I saved a lot of them on Wednesday - the day blogger got all jacked up.
None of my drafts or posts from Wed are there. Okay - it was two posts - 1 short & 1 long, one VERY LONG draft & one 1/2 of a post. Also 2 pictures I added to older posts.
Ugh.
Monica, over at The Writer Chic, suggested in my facebook rant about the above to use Windows Live as it was unaffected during Bloggers issues.
I like it for editing & uploading pictures & had never used it to write or save as a draft, but I guess that is the route I'm taking now!
I'm going to work on some more drafts the next couple of days - try to remember what I wrote on the other one...
Until I get those up & posted (tomorrow will be the regularly scheduled My Monday Meal) - take a gander at these beauts...

Bryleigh's Dedication & Mother's Day
The weekend weather was BEAUTIFUL! Even me, who LOVES cloudy days - LOVED the sun & gentle breeze...
We started off w/Bry's Dedication on Saturday. It was beautiful..the Church prayed with her & we hope that we are able to share our beliefs & nurture her as she finds hers.
After the Dedication, we went home & relaxed for the evening. It was just one of those days where we didn't have the energy to do anything.
Sunday Morning I was woke up by the girls at 9:45 (WOOHOO-got to sleep in!) & was brought out to a wonderful pancake breakfast made by Dennis :)
I was given my adorable Mother's day gifts from Cadence...
and from Dennis....
Dennis took the girls to the park for awhile & I read my book in the quiet house. However, Quinn & Lola took the girls spots & laid on me while I read..haha..
WHen they got home, we headed over to Shannon's for a cookout. These are the only pics I got while there..
and...
After the cookout, we stopped at Marge's for a little while. By the time we got home it was 10:30! My girls were on serious sensory overload! They were having a meltdown walking from the van to the house...it was CRAZY.
We put them to bed as soon as we walked in the door & they slept wonderfully all nite...phew.
My Mother's Day was perfect b/c I spent it w/the best guy & 2 little people in my world!
