My Monday Meal...Chicken Cresent Rolls...

I'm proud of myself for coming up with this recipe on my own.  Even Dennis was surprised! 
He kept asking me, are you sure this was all you??  Yes, it was.  I saw other recipes that had a few of the ingredients together, but not one like this.  Pinterest had great recipes, but none put this together and honestly, I don't see a lot with the french onion soup mix.  Man, I love that stuff!

4 boneless/skinless chicken breasts

2 pck crescent rolls

Mozz cheese

French onion soup mix dry

-sorry for the stock pictures - one day I'll add a real one!  :)

Preheat oven to temp listed on Crescent rolls

Brown chicken on both sides in fry pan. Add water to cover chicken, add 1 packet of dry French onion soup mix & cover.

Cook until chicken is completely cooked through.

Cut into chunks.

Open crescent rolls & pinch together seams of 2 triangles to make 4 different crusts. Add chicken chunks & as much mozz cheese as you want. Then add the other package of crescent rolls, pinching seams of 2 triangles together, than placing them on top of the chicken mixture & pressing the top & bottom crescents together.

Bake for 12-14 mins (or as long as the rolls require). Serve w/green beans & salad. Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream for dessert equals YUM!

And really, the combination possibilities are numerous.  We also made these with pepper jack cheese, sharp cheese and colby. 
Instead of French soup mix, we did dry Italian dressing...the crecent roll has the flavor bake right in - it's sooo good!

Little Monster Creations

So I have some uber talented family members…from football playing (Jaime) to sewing (Tiffany) they all bring something to the table!

My cousin Tiffany started a small shirt business after she wanted to buy her ‘Little Monster’ a shirt w/a faux tie.
When she saw the price tag, she looked at the shirt & decided she could make it herself for a lot less…and she did!

While she holds a full time job outside of the home, is a mommy to a busy 1 yr old (& one on the way) & a wife at home, she still finds time to create these adorable shirts.

Orthopedic Appt for possible spine curvature & Cheer Parent Meeting

Cadence had her 1 yr follow-up w/the ortho dr. She originally started seeing him b/c she walks so pigeon toed & was tripping a lot. Last year as he was examining her, he noted her spine might have a slight curve & w/the family history of spine curvature, he wanted to see her in a year.
While we waited for the dr. to come in, the girls played & were really good. It’s always touch & go at dr appts. Sometimes they are overly anxious about seeing the dr & act insane. Today, they were just happy little girls playing.



Her appointment was well, the dr said there was no curve, she looked perfect! WOO!! I was concerned b/c of Dennis’ families backs…I felt a lot better after this appointment!

After the appointment, we ran over to Randi’s room & saw her & Aiden.

He’s so darn cute! Randi is in a lot of pain, but she did a great job! I hope she heals quickly..i hate seeing my family in pain.


After Cadence’s practice today, there was a parent meeting..they talked about next seasons competitions, tryouts & fundraising. I’m looking forward to the competition, Cadence loves it them & I love seeing her out on the floor giving her all!

Tonite has been pretty low key…Bryleigh was extremely fussy & I put her to bed a few mins before 8:30. She cried for like 15 mins. I felt bad, but she was miserable for most of the evening!

Tomorrow after work, Cadence has practice & Dennis has school. Cadence has to work on her journal - during spring break that's her homework. Also she only needs two more sight words & she'll know them all! I'm hoping by weeks end, she'll have them memorized!

Screening, Cord Prolapse & Aiden Joseph

Friday was pretty laid back. I was happy to get off work & after a quick trip home to change my clothes we went to visit Marge & Dave. She bought us dinner from McD’s & Cadence stayed the nite.

Saturday my mom came over to watch Bryleigh while Dennis & I went to volunteer at Planned Pethood. I was screening & he helped setup, tear down & take dogs out to use the bathroom.
I LOVED all the dogs there! Some of my favorites from the day were Sally, Sophie & Tyson.
Also, this cat w/the Humane Society, was cracking me up. He totally looked like he was saying FML. Poor guy! Ha!

Cadence was dropped off to us at the store and about 20 mins before it was time to go, she threw up all over the bathroom…I felt so bad!
She was pretty lethargic the rest of the day – fell asleep at like 7:30 even.

However, when she woke up Sunday morning, she was back to her happy self! We were feeling a little like we had cabin fever, so we decided to take a small drive. We ended up in Kari’s neck of the woods & stopped by, but she wasn’t home…

After about an hour of driving, we went home to relax. I was also waiting for word on how Randi’s labor was coming. Around 6, Angie texted me that they broke her water, so I headed up to the hospital to wait & greet Aiden w/the rest of the family.

Around 7:40 Randi started having complications…she then had cord prolapsed. They wheeled her back for an emergency c-section. It was so scary. The dr was on the gurney w/her holding the umbilical cord inside of her.
However, Aiden Joseph was born crying loudly, healthy as can be @ 7lbs 4oz 21 inches long! Randi lost quite a bit of blood, but they were finally able to control & she didn’t have to have a transfusion.

I left the hospital before Aiden came out to meet everyone – but got plenty of pics from Aunt Vicki!

I enjoy posting them on here b/c it’s nice to go back & see what I’ve accomplished – what can I say, I’m a list nerd! To make my ‘listing’ personality & my ‘time’ both happy, I’m going to make my to-do Tuesdays monthly…they’ll rarely fall on Tuesdays now - but at least I still feel like I’m getting my list in!

Overnite Guest, 31 & relaxation..

Friday Emily stayed the nite – it was nice to see her, she hasn’t been allowed to stay in months…like a typical teenager she was more interested in playing on facebook than hanging out w/us, but she did spend some time with & even emptied the dishwasher before she went to sleep!

Saturday I went to a 31 party @ Michele’s. If you’ve never been to one, don’t go – you’ll want to buy everything! I was able to pick out a nice wallet for Cadence’s cheer sister & a tote to hold my groceries in the back of the van!

Sunday we went to the grocery store & then we came home to relaxing w/the girls & dennis...

I can never decide if I enjoy low key weekends or fun filled weekends more… All I can say for sure is this low key weekend was pretty awesome!

Hyperbole and a Half

Sleep, rather, the lack of sleep…

Bryleigh’s sleep pattern has never been consistent..from sleeping for 2 hrs at a time, to sleeping most of the night but waking up twice, she is now in a super funky stage..she falls asleep perfectly & wakes up bawling an hour later. Calming her down is practically impossible. Leaving her in the crib to ‘cry it out’ makes her gag until she throws up..and it’s so hard that she chokes herself. ::sigh::

Usually the only way to really calm her down is to take her out of the crib & rock her. Once she calms down, she’s wide awake & wants to play..and not just for a few minutes…like she’s gone 2 hrs playing before she started getting crabby again! Ugh…I’ve pushed her bedtime back an hour in hopes of making sure she’s REALLY tired and will stay asleep. Didn’t work.

I drag at work & when I get home b/c of the sleep loss…I just wonder how much longer she’s going to go through this! Dennis & I can barely function by the time 9 pm rolls around.

Any thoughts or tricks you’d like to share? We are ALL ears…

But no matter how tired we are…how can you not love this face??

Wordful Wednesday..

Dennis was sent home from work early today, so he had both girls at home & dinner made & on plates when I walked in the door from work tonite. how fantastic is that?!

After dinner, I played with the girls for a little while. Cadence wanted to watch Toy Story 3, so I popped that in the dvd player & she watched that while Bryleigh played w/her popcorn popper & dollhouse, Dennis watched tv & I worked on fundraising stuff for SEA.

Bryleigh’s happiness was quickly going downhill starting around 8. I don’t want her to go to bed earlier than 8:30 b/c she a) doesn’t sleep well or b) gets up ridiculously early, so I was forcing her to stay up with us. She finally had a full on melt down at 8:25 & we quickly dressed her in her pj’s & put her to bed. Poor B!

Cadence & I read a few books & then she changed into her jammies & headed to dreamland w/her sister.

At this point Dennis & I should have gotten up & cleaned the house back up. Instead, we turned out lights throughout the house, went to our room, crawled into bed & here I am blogging, while Dennis reads a book.
The housework will be there tomorrow, but quiet time in this house lasts a very short time between the girls bedtime and us falling asleep.
Tomorrow my mom is having a jewelry party, but it’s going to be at Don Pablos. I will only stop out for a short time & then head home. Friday I have my final sleep study, so I want to get home & get everything ready for Friday.

Almost March

I can't believe it's almost March!! How'd that happen?? Anyways, I'm ready for Feb to be done - between, snow & ice storms & work, i'm over this month!

We had a nice weekend this past weekend. I had a sleep study on Friday, that sucked a little bit & then yesterday Leah stayed the nite. That was nice b/c she kept Cadence busy! And she's good w/Bry (she has a 2 yr old little sister at home - so she knows how to treat her) and she sleeps late!

Today, Cadence & Leah had cheer practice and afterwards we had lunch w/the teams @ Arby's. It was a nice event to promote the family feeling in this team!

But alas, Monday is tomorrow & i have to go to work. I really wish the lotto #'s picked & the lotto #'s on my ticket would match!

Slumber Party Success!!!

I am so happy with how great Cadence's slumber party turned out!! From the crafts to the food! All 8 girls were well behaved! Two went home - but we still had a blast. I could see us having another one...maybe not so many girls though, just b/c they are so young - I worried a lot about what they were doing when I couldn't see them.
I am lucky Cadence has such great friends already...I hope she can keep them for a long time to come!
